District 21 Hotel

Beware of this hotel. We were charged an extra person charge for my son traveling with me and my wife which we gladly paid for but we had to repeatedly ask for an extra towel for use as there were only two towels in the room. When we requested for just one extra pillow in the evening, we were told by the front desk that this was another 150 peso charge per day. This is unacceptable as we have already been charged for an extra person which we expected also included some extra amenities to make the stay comfortable. We would definitely not recommend staying here as they are trying to squeeze guests out of every dime and nickel that they can. They would rather lose customers than offer an extra pillow.

*An ONLINE RESERVATION was MADE. *Check-OUT time is 12 noon and check-IN time is 2 PM. So my family and I arrived at the hotel at exactly 2 PM with the desire to rest after a long tiring trip. There were 3 staff at the counter but were accommodating only one customer at a time. It was our turn when we were told to wait 15-30 minutes for our room despite having a reservation already. We waited for 30 minutes and were given only 1 out of 3 of our reserved rooms, so my pregnant wife could already sleep. We had to wait another 30 minutes for the other rooms to be available. After a total of 1 hour of waiting after the supposed to be check-in time, they still hadn't called us to inform us about the availability, so we had to call them instead. So finally we were all able to check in. We decided that we will have our breakfast at the hotel the next day. The receptionist asked how many people were in each of our specific rooms, so my sister-in-law gave her all the details, despite having our check-in records and our IDs photocopied already. After a few hours, she called into my room to ask again for the same details, so I gave her again and CONFIRMED if they still need anything else since I had to go to sleep early for my work. Then 2 hours later the phone rang again, she was asking me for THE SAME details!! Terrible. This "Sheryl" is not even apologetic. The hotel is totally mismanaged. I have to give them 2 stars since the place and the location is nice. Other than that, the worst hotel service I've encountered. P.S. No need to mention the experience with the restaurant cashier's attitude, which is on par with the hotel receptionist.

We stayed 3 nights including Christmas. Rooms are very clean and quiet. Beds are comfy. Staff friendly and helpful. In fact, the only thing I can say negative about the room is the cold to lukewarm shower. (Maybe that's a trend in hotels in the Philippines?) The only other complaint I have is not about the room, but about room service. We arrived back to the hotel late on Christmas Eve (around 7:20) but the hotel specifically said that we could order room service up until 8 that evening. The restaurant is just off the lobby, so before we went to the room, I wanted to get a couple sodas to drink. I walked up to the register and the guy says, "Sorry, sir. We aren't taking orders for dinner anymore.The kitchen is closing." I'm like "Cool. I just wanted a couple sodas from the fridge there behind you." He said, again, "Sorry, sir, the kitchen is closing and we aren't taking any orders." I said, "C'mon, man, you can't reach behind you and hand me two sodas from the fridge?" "No, sorry sir. We're closing the register." So, I walk around the corner to where my girlfriend was standing and said we have to go back out. She then says, "wait", walks over to the register and the guy says, "Hi Ma'am. How can I help you?" and she says, "Yeah, can I get two Cokes and can I order room service before they close at 8?" The guy is like, "Sure, Ma'am", took her order and gave her the two Cokes. I asked the dude, "Why was it closed for me and not for her?" But he didn't answer. Seemed like he had a problem with me as a foreigner (my girlfriend is a Filipina) or something. Anyway, the food was not that great (pizza, alfredo pasta Philippine-style, and fried chicken) and tasted like typical overpriced frozen hotel food. So, just to make it clear. This is an awesome place to stay for a few days esp. on a budget, but eat or order from outside.
